According to a report by Daily Post on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that President Bola Tinubu is the only presidential candidate capable of winning Rivers State in the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the assertion during his monthly media chat held in Abuja on Tuesday, where he spoke on the political landscape ahead of the next presidential election.

According to the FCT minister, anyone assessing the electoral prospects of candidates in Rivers State should recognise that the state would only be favourable to President Tinubu.

The former Rivers State governor said his confidence was based on his understanding of the political dynamics and voting behaviour of the people of Rivers State.
