Nollywood star Regina Daniels has urged Nigerians to refrain from criticizing her mother, Rita Daniels, amid the growing controversy surrounding her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, according to a Cable report published on November 5, 2025.
In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Regina praised her mother as a pillar of support and expressed gratitude for her unwavering guidance.
The drama began after a viral October video showed Regina accusing Nwoko of domestic abuse, a claim he later dismissed, alleging instead that she was dealing with personal struggles involving alcohol and drugs.
Tensions rose again when Regina accused Nwoko of orchestrating her brothers’ arrest. In a subsequent video, Rita Daniels condemned the senator’s actions, accusing him of betrayal and reminding the public of the family’s sacrifices toward his political growth.
She revealed that Regina had once donated $50,000 to his campaign and denied that her daughter married for money.
Regina further disclosed that her marriage had caused her emotional turmoil, revealing she had once considered ending her life when her family disapproved of the relationship. She clarified that her decision to marry Nwoko stemmed from love, not material gain.
“I still respect him. I’m only holding back because I want my children’s name to remain strong,” she said.
Regina emphasized that her current focus is on protecting her children and maintaining peace, urging the public to show understanding and compassion toward her mother and family during this challenging period.
