Senate President, Godswill Akpabio Reacts As He Visits Oyo Gov, Seyi Makinde In Ibadan On Sunday

The Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, has reacted following his visit to Oyo State, where he met with Governor Seyi Makinde during a Christmas Carol Service held at the venue opposite the Government House in Agodi, Ibadan, on Sunday.

In a statement shared on his verified Facebook page, Akpabio disclosed that his visit to Oyo State was part of activities marking important traditional and social engagements in the ancient Yoruba land. 

He revealed that he was present in Oyo town to witness the conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Obaloyin of Yorubaland and Yeye Obaloyin on former Zamfara State Governor and current Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, alongside his wife, Asmau.

According to the Senate President, he also witnessed the conferment of the chieftaincy titles of Okanlomo of Yorubaland and Yeye Okanlomo on Oluwaseyi Tinubu and his wife, Layal. 

He described the ceremonies as historic and significant, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and unity of the Yoruba people.
Akpabio further stated that after the chieftaincy events, he paid a courtesy visit to a former colleague and the current Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Royal Majesty, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, at his residence in Bodija, Ibadan.

Before departing the city, the Senate President met with Governor Seyi Makinde at the Christmas Carol Service ground in Agodi, where both leaders exchanged pleasantries.

The statement shared by Akpabio, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, has since sparked widespread reactions from his supporters and followers across social media platforms.
