The Dream Of Buhari To Become President In 2015 Was Fully Architected And Financed By Tinubu — Yari

According to a report published by Nigerian Tribune on December 21, 2027, former Zamfara State governor and ex-Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, has reiterated that the northern region is firmly committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election, pointing to longstanding political alliances and shared sacrifices that shaped Nigeria’s recent political history.

Yari made the remarks on Sunday in Oyo State during his installation as the Obaloyin of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade.

The ceremony, which attracted political leaders, traditional rulers and supporters from across the country, underscored growing efforts to strengthen national unity and inter-regional cooperation ahead of the next election cycle.

Speaking on the political bond between the North and the South-West, Yari argued that Tinubu’s role in national politics has been pivotal for over a decade.

He noted that Tinubu was deeply involved in the political processes that led to the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that Buhari’s rise to power was not accidental but the result of deliberate strategy and support.

According to Yari, “the dream of President Buhari to become president in 2015 was fully architected, designed and financed by Tinubu,” a contribution he said many leaders in the North openly acknowledge.

He explained that this history has created a strong sense of obligation among northern political stakeholders to stand by Tinubu, adding that support for the president cuts across the North-West, North-Central and North-East.

Yari maintained that sustaining the alliance is important not only for political continuity but also for national stability.

The former governor also expressed confidence in the Tinubu administration, stating that early policy decisions and governance direction have reassured supporters in the North.

He said continuity in leadership would allow ongoing reforms to deepen and produce meaningful results for Nigerians.

On his new traditional role, Yari said the Obaloyin of Yorubaland title carries responsibilities beyond ceremony, including promoting unity, cultural exchange and cooperation between Yorubaland and other regions.

He pledged to use the position to strengthen ties between the North and the South-West and to support initiatives that advance national cohesion and development.
