Wike: I Ended Last Year Kneeling Behind My Boss To Serve Him, This Year I'll Crawl To Cook -Olayinka

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser on Media to the former Rivers State Governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has responded on his official X account following widespread criticism over his recent actions on live television.

According to his posts, he emphasized that he is willing to do whatever it takes to earn and maintain his principal’s trust.

The controversy began when Olayinka was seen kneeling on live TV to serve Wike a drink, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.

The footage drew mixed reactions, with some people viewing the act as excessive or inappropriate.

In a statement shared on his X handle on Thursday, January 1, 2026, Olayinka addressed the backlash directly.

He described his gesture of kneeling as an accomplishment and noted that while many critics kneel before their spouses without controversy, his act of respect toward his principal seemed to provoke outrage.

Olayinka further explained that he is prepared to go to great lengths to show loyalty, even joking that he would crawl or roll on the floor to cook and serve Wike if necessary.

He argued that loyalty, though often overlooked in Nigerian politics, remains a core value he intends to uphold.

Despite the criticism, his actions have sparked conversations about the nature of loyalty and devotion in political service.
