Mpigi: Rainbow Coalition Has Raised The Sum Of 500 Million To Start Up A Foundation For You– Wike

The Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that a group named the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State has gathered ₦500 million for the family of the deceased Senator Barry Mpigi.

In footage shared by TVC News, Wike shared this information in Port Harcourt during a tribute evening dedicated to the memory of the late legislator, who died on February 19 following a short illness.

He mentioned that these funds would be allocated to create a foundation in Mpigi’s honor to assist his family and uphold his legacy.

He stated that the foundation aims to offer ongoing support and guarantee that the influence of the late senator endures beyond his passing.

He highlighted that while the sum may not suffice, it reflects the deep bond and backing from those who collaborated with Mpigi.

Wike also urged the political colleagues and friends of the late senator to remain dedicated to aiding his family. He noted that true support extends beyond kind sentiments and public acknowledgments.

He remarked that being there for the family and nurturing relationships is more vital than merely hosting events. The minister encouraged ongoing solidarity and attention towards the relatives Mpigi has left behind.

He remarked, "They have collected a total of 500 million to establish a foundation for you. It may not be sufficient, but keep in mind that this was where your husband also belonged."
