When Gaddafi Was Killed Some Of His Mercenaries Came To Nigeria With Guns And Began To Sell Them–OBJ

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that part of the insecurity in Nigeria can be traced to events that followed the death of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya

In an interview with News Central TV, Obasanjo said Gaddafi recruited mercenaries from many countries, including Nigeria, to fight for him. He said when Gaddafi was killed, the mercenaries scattered and returned to their various countries.

Obasanjo stated that many of them came back to Nigeria with weapons they had acquired during the conflict and began to sell them. He said this increased the availability of illegal arms and made security problems worse

In Obasanjo's words: "Gaddafi recruited mercenaries from everywhere, including from Nigeria.

When Gadafi was killed those mercenaries went their different ways. A lot of them came to Nigeria with their guns, some even started trading guns from there to Nigeria"
