A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Collins Ordu, has claimed that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has not been officially accepted into the All Progressives Congress despite ongoing political speculations surrounding the governor’s alleged relationship with the ruling party.
The statement was made during an interview clip that was later shared on the official X page of News Central TV on Monday, May 11, 2026.
The comments have since generated reactions among political observers and supporters of both the PDP and APC, especially in Rivers State where the political atmosphere has remained tense in recent months.
Ordu’s remarks came shortly after reports emerged that some APC members in Rivers State were allegedly denied clearance during a screening exercise.
The development sparked discussions about internal disagreements within the party and the broader political situation in the state.
While speaking during the interview, Ordu suggested that Governor Fubara is still battling unresolved issues involving members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
According to him, the lingering conflict between the governor and lawmakers continues to create uncertainty around his political future and alliances.
The PDP chieftain noted that there has been no visible indication showing that the APC has formally embraced Fubara.
He argued that if such acceptance had taken place, there would likely have been clearer political signals and public acknowledgment from leaders of the ruling party.
Ordu further stated that the governor may currently be navigating difficult political circumstances behind the scenes.
He explained that the ongoing tensions in Rivers politics have made it difficult for many residents and political stakeholders to fully understand the direction events may eventually take.
According to him, the situation remains fluid, with several political interests still competing for influence within the state.
