Peter Obi Has Been Campaigning With Capacity, Competence, Character, Credibility & Compassion—Tanko

In a recent interview on Symfoni TV, Yunusa Tanko, a Global Leader of the Obidient Movement, spoke on leadership values, political mobilisation, and the qualities he believes are shaping Nigeria’s evolving democratic space ahead of future elections.

During the interview, Tanko stated, “Peter Obi has been campaigning with capacity, competence, character, credibility and compassion.”

He made the remark while highlighting the leadership style and political messaging of Peter Obi, describing him as a figure whose approach to politics is centered on service delivery and human development.

Tanko explained that Obi’s consistent emphasis on education, accountability, and prudent resource management has continued to resonate with many Nigerians across different regions.

According to him, these qualities have helped shape the growing support base around the Obidient Movement, especially among young people seeking alternative leadership models.

He further noted that the five qualities he mentioned—capacity, competence, character, credibility, and compassion—are, in his view, the foundation of credible leadership in any democratic society.

He argued that leaders who embody these values are more likely to deliver meaningful governance outcomes and restore public trust in political institutions.

Tanko also stressed that political engagement must go beyond rhetoric, urging supporters to remain active at the grassroots level.

He said real political strength is built through structured organisation at polling units, communities, and local government areas rather than relying solely on online mobilisation.

Speaking further, he reaffirmed his position as a leading figure within the Obidient Movement, noting that the group continues to expand its coordination structures across Nigeria.

He said the movement is focused on building a disciplined political network capable of supporting credible candidates in future elections.

Tanko concluded by calling for unity among Nigerians, insisting that national progress will depend on the willingness of citizens to support leaders who demonstrate integrity, competence, and genuine commitment to public service.
