Jilli: We Hid When Aircraft Dropped Second Bomb That Affected Me, I Didn't See Boko Haram There—Umar

Umar, a victim of the airstrike that hit Jilli Market on April 11, 2026, has stated that he was selling fried yam and eggs when the attack happened

In an interview with Trust TV, Umar said he was in the market carrying out his normal business when an aircraft dropped a bomb at the market, causing people to run in different directions. He said the aircraft dropped another bomb which injured him

Umar stated that he did not see any Boko Haram members in the market at the time of the attack. He said those he saw who were affected by the strikes were ordinary villagers

In Umar's words: "We were in the market when we heard a loud sound. People started running, some saying it was a tyre explosion but it was a bomb.

We went into hiding when the aircraft came and dropped the second strike that affected me. There were more than 200 people affected. I didn't see any Boko Haram members in the market, everyone affected was a villager"
