Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of NDC, has stated that he won’t be bothered if all 36 state governors decide to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027.
In an interview with Advocacy for Good Governance, Obi said that during the 2023 presidential election he did not have the support of a single governor, yet he won 12 states. He said Kwankwaso won one state, while Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar won 12 states each.
Peter Obi alleged that he would have won 14 states during the election, but 2 states were "stolen" from him through rigging
In Obi's words: "Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso won one state, Kano. APC, PDP and Labour Party all won 12 states each. And in it I lost 2 by the process of rigging, so I would have had 14 states. It doesn't matter whether they took all the governors"
