A man believed to be linked to the Neo Black Movement, also referred to as the Aiye Confraternity, identified as Emmanuel, has reportedly admitted his involvement in the killing of a person who was not a member of the cult group.
As reported by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, June 6, 2026, Emmanuel was arrested during a police raid aimed at curbing cult-related violence across parts of Ojo Local Government Area in Lagos State, including Ishashi, Shibiri, Ajangbadi, and Ilogbo.
The operation formed part of intensified security actions following a rise in clashes between rival cult factions in the area.
During police questioning, Emmanuel allegedly confessed that he and three others lured the victim to a location under the pretext of purchasing illegal drugs. He stated that once the victim arrived, he was attacked and killed.
In his alleged statement, he said: “The first person we killed was Soweto, a member of the Eiye Confraternity, who also had a gun.
We deceived him by saying we wanted to buy hard drugs. He was into drug dealing. Four of us Emma, Paragon, Santa and myself — carried out the operation. I was the one who recorded the killing.”
Authorities say investigations are still ongoing as efforts continue to tackle cult violence and criminal activities in the affected communities.
