Why Should I Trust Obi to Even Give Him My Vote; This Is Going to Be His Worst Outing – Tudun Wada

Adnan Mukhtar Tudun Wada, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed skepticism about Peter Obi’s chances in the 2027 presidential election, arguing that the former Anambra State governor may find it difficult to replicate his 2023 performance.

Speaking on the PAP Show, Tudun Wada said the political landscape ahead of the next election has changed significantly. 

He argued that religious sentiments, which he believes contributed substantially to Obi’s strong showing in 2023, may no longer have the same impact in 2027.

According to him, many Nigerians who opposed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket in the last election may not necessarily support Obi in the next poll, as voters are increasingly placing greater emphasis on leadership capacity and good governance rather than religious considerations.

Tudun Wada also highlighted the importance of political party structures in shaping the outcome of the 2027 election, describing the ADC as an emerging and credible opposition platform.

He maintained that the forthcoming presidential election could be Obi’s most challenging political contest yet, insisting that competence, track record in governance, and party strength will ultimately influence voters’ choices.

In his words: “Why should I trust him enough to give him my vote and ask my people to support him? I don’t see that happening. This could be Peter Obi’s toughest election outing in his political career.”
