2027: Peter Obi Is Not A Match; All The Governors Who Governed Lagos State Did Better Than Him — Bwala

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communications to President Bola Tinubu, said Peter Obi is no match for the President, arguing that every governor who has governed Lagos State performed better than Obi did in Anambra State.

According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of TVC News on Sunday, July 19, 2026, while discussing preparations for the 2027 general election, Bwala dismissed suggestions that Peter Obi poses a significant political challenge.

Bwala maintained that Obi's political record does not compare with that of Tinubu, insisting his assessment was based on governance performance rather than campaign rhetoric, while arguing that leadership records should remain central when Nigerians evaluate presidential contenders carefully.

When asked about his frequent criticism of Peter Obi and whether it reflected concern about Obi's political strength ahead of 2027, he stated, “Peter Obi is not a match. I assure you, all the governors who have governed Lagos State have done better than Peter Obi. So, Peter Obi is not a match.”
