He Campaigned Against Me, I Fed Him Lunch" – Peter Obi Drops Revelations on How He Fed Kalu

According to a report by Channels TV on Monday, July 27, Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has shared details of how he interacted with political opponents during his re-election campaign, saying he never prevented them from carrying out their political activities in the state.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Obi recounted that former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole came to Anambra to campaign for Dr. Chris Ngige during the governorship election.

According to Obi, he even made transportation available for the visiting politicians.

He also recalled another incident involving former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, saying, "He campaigned against me, I fed him lunch," after inviting him to his home once the campaign event had ended.

Obi said Kalu had travelled to Anambra to campaign for Uche Ekwunife, who was contesting against him. Despite the political rivalry, he said they later shared a meal, demonstrating that elections should not lead to personal hostility.

According to Channels Television, Obi said these experiences reflected his belief that politics should be based on healthy competition rather than bitterness or intimidation. He maintained that candidates should be free to campaign without interference from those in power.
