Senator Adams Oshiomhole representing Edo State has alleged that Peter Obi's background as a trader limits his economic thinking to short-term gains, arguing that he lacks the long-term vision required to manage a complex economy like Nigeria's.
Speaking on TVC, Oshiomhole said, "Obi is a trader. Traders have short-term calculation. They are not into long-term projection.
They are not wired to think of what the situation will be in the long run. Their turnover is within three months, maximum six months.
It is a manufacturer, an investor, an entrepreneur that understands how you can start a project, sweating for two or three years to lay the groundwork, like building a factory, going to port, installing machines, before you start producing," he said.
Responding to Obi's claim that President Tinubu is no longer the same leader who governed Lagos State, Oshiomhole turned the argument back on Obi himself.
He pointed out that the Peter Obi who served as Anambra Governor once vowed, out of respect for Ojukwu's memory, never to leave APGA yet the moment his tenure ended, he aligned himself with Atiku Abubakar as a running mate, partnering with figures Ojukwu would never have associated with.
According to Oshiomhole, Obi's own political journey makes it difficult for him to accuse anyone else of inconsistency.
