Umahi Says Tinubu Remains Strongest Contender Ahead of 2027 Election

According to dailypost news on Wednesday 15th July 2026, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s political strength, stating that the President currently faces no credible opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Umahi attributed Tinubu’s strong position to the administration’s performance, particularly in infrastructure development and road construction projects being executed across the country.

He said these achievements have continued to earn the support of Nigerians and have strengthened public confidence in the government.

The minister maintained that elected leaders should be judged by their performance and commitment to national development rather than political rhetoric.

According to him, the Tinubu administration has demonstrated a clear focus on delivering projects that will have lasting benefits for citizens and contribute to economic growth.

Umahi also dismissed concerns over the emergence of opposition alliances preparing for the next general election.

He expressed optimism that the ruling All Progressives Congress would retain broad national support, insisting that no opposition candidate currently matches the President's record in office.

He further stated that the full impact of the administration's policies and development programmes would become more evident in the coming years, strengthening Tinubu's chances of securing another term.

The minister's remarks add to the growing political discussions surrounding the 2027 presidential election as political parties and stakeholders continue to position themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
