“Other Religious People Are Marrying Four Wives, Five Wives and Populating the Nation” - Kumuyi Warns

General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, has called on Christians to embrace marriage and childbearing as acts of obedience to God's word.

He warned that hesitation and fear in these areas could weaken families and the future of the church.

Speaking during a recent sermon streamed on YouTube, Kumuyi referenced Jeremiah 29:6, which commands believers to marry and raise families.

“You will increase, you will not diminish,” he emphasized, urging Christians to take practical steps toward building godly homes.

He expressed concern over the growing trend of delayed marriages and low birth rates among Christians, attributing it to fear, over-analysis, and cultural restrictions.

Kumuyi criticized situations where parents or church leaders delay marriage decisions due to tribal concerns, social status, or finances.

“While others are marrying and multiplying, some believers are limiting marriages due to unnecessary restrictions,” he said.

Kumuyi also called out church marriage committees for creating barriers that discourage young people from settling down.

He warned that such practices could lead to stagnation, saying, “If this continues, the church could gradually decline as the older generation passes.”

Encouraging faith and action, he urged Christian families to release their children for marriage and trust God for fruitfulness.

“The way is open. Childbearing will start in your families, in Jesus’ name,” he declared.

Pastor Kumuyi concluded by stressing that obedience to God in marriage and family life plays a vital role in the growth of both the church and society.

He encouraged believers not to give in to fear, but to walk in faith, trusting God’s design for family expansion.
