ADC:If They Are Not Careful, They Will Be Surprised;I Know What Rotimi is Doing Underground- Dalung

Former Sports Minister Solomon Dalung has issued a stern warning against political complacency as the opposition camp intensifies permutations for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement made on SYMFONI Television on Sunday, January 25, 2026, Dalung warned that the increasing focus on a select few well-known candidates might be detrimental and maintained that Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, is covertly preparing for a significant political coup inside the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Rochas alleged that Wike has suffered a series of political setbacks in Rivers State, including losing access to state funds, control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and influence over impeachment efforts against Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He further claimed that Wike’s once-dominant political machinery has been weakened by internal divisions and external interventions.

Rivers State has remained politically volatile following the breakdown in the relationship between Wike and Fubara, his former ally.

The State House of Assembly, largely loyal to Wike, has initiated multiple impeachment moves against Fubara, accusing him of constitutional violations. However, these efforts have stalled following judicial interventions.

The Rivers State Chief Judge declined to set up an impeachment panel, citing existing court orders restraining the process.

Political observers argue that shifting alliances have significantly altered the balance of power. Governor Hope Uzodinma is widely believed to have played a strategic role in weakening Wike’s grip on Rivers politics by influencing alignments within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This influence reportedly contributed to Governor Fubara’s defection from the PDP to the APC, a move analysts describe as a major blow to Wike’s political base.

As the 2027 general elections draw closer, the evolving rivalry among key political actors is expected to continue shaping Rivers State’s political landscape and national discourse.
