I’m No More a Christian, I’m Now a Traditionalist — Man Storms Church Over Alleged Discrimination

According to report by Punch on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, a man publicly renounced his Christian faith, accusing a church of political partiality related to Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s ambitions.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the unidentified man is seen confronting church members, angrily declaring that he no longer identifies as a Christian.

The man claims his decision stems from the church’s alleged failure to recognise or support Senator Ubah, a notable politician and businessman.

He interprets the church’s inaction as deliberate favoritism and a reflection of hypocrisy within its leadership.

According to him, religious institutions, which are meant to promote fairness and unity, have instead shown selective support and political manipulation, undermining the values he once associated with Christianity.

The video has sparked a heated online debate among Nigerians.

Some critics argue that abandoning faith over political issues is extreme and misguided, while others suggest it highlights frustration with how churches sometimes engage in politics.

The church at the centre of the controversy has yet to respond to the allegations.
