Wike Attacks Fubara Over His "BARKING DOG ' Comment, Replies Ohaneze President General Senator Mbata

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has fired a double-barreled verbal missile at his political enemies, responding to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s "barking dog" comment and the "semi-illiterate" insult from Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General, Senator John Mbata.

Speaking during a thank-you visit to Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) on Friday, Wike wasted no time in addressing the Governor's New Year speech, where Fubara had urged Rivers people to ignore "ignorant barking dogs."

In a sharp retort, Wike reminded the Governor that it was the same "barking dog" that frightened the opposition and cleared the path for him to become Governor when nobody knew him.

"I heard him say a dog is barking," Wike told the cheering crowd. "But let me tell him: This dog that is barking now, barked when Rivers people didn't even know who he was. It was this dog that barked that made him Governor when others ran away."

He warned that the "dog" is still awake and will soon bite those who have betrayed their benefactors.

Turning his attention to Senator John Mbata, who had described him as a "semi-illiterate" and vowed that Ndigbo would resist him, Wike was dismissive and sarcastic.

He mocked the Ohanaeze leader as a "local champion" who spent eight years in the Senate with nothing to show for it, only to return home to play "community politics."

"I saw one man who calls himself a Senator and President General. He said I am semi-illiterate," Wike laughed. "Well, at least I am 'semi,' not 'fully' illiterate like those who cannot win a single unit for their people."

Wike insisted that despite his so-called "semi-illiteracy," he has achieved more for Rivers State and Nigeria than the "grammar-speaking" elites who are now crying over lost influence.

Political observers say Wike’s combative stance signals that he is ready to take on both the state government and regional socio-cultural groups in the battle for 2027.
