2027: Sometimes I Use To Say “If You Want To Defeat Tinubu, Go And Take Lectures From Tinubu-Jibrin

Former member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as one of the most strategic politicians in Nigeria, stating that anyone hoping to defeat him politically must first understand and learn from his approach to politics.

Jibrin made the statement during an interview on TVC News while discussing Tinubu’s political influence and the increasing conversations surrounding the 2027 general elections.

According to the former lawmaker, Tinubu has remained politically relevant for decades because of his strong understanding of coalition building, grassroots mobilization, and political survival.

He explained that the president possesses a unique ability to maintain influence across different political structures and regions of the country.

Speaking during the interview, Jibrin said, “Sometimes I use to say ‘if you want to defeat Tinubu, go and take lectures from Tinubu.’”

He further noted that Tinubu’s strength in politics goes beyond his ability to form alliances.

According to him, the president also understands the importance of timing, loyalty, and long-term political strategy, qualities he believes have helped Tinubu remain one of the most influential figures in Nigerian politics.

Jibrin argued that many politicians underestimate the president’s political network and level of influence within the country’s political system.

He maintained that Tinubu has consistently demonstrated the capacity to build and sustain relationships that strengthen his position ahead of major political contests.

The former Kano lawmaker also pointed out that since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999, Tinubu has played a major role in the emergence of several governors, lawmakers, and other prominent political figures across the country.

His comments come at a time when political discussions ahead of the 2027 presidential election are gradually intensifying, with opposition parties and major political stakeholders already beginning consultations and strategic alignments for the future.
