ADC: Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen Have The Right To Be Angry Because They've No Chance Against Atiku -Momodu

In a recent interview on News Central TV, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, spoke on internal opposition dynamics and reactions to political contests ahead of the 2027 general elections involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

During the interview, Momodu addressed concerns about dissatisfaction expressed by some aspirants following party processes, noting that disagreements are common in competitive primaries but must be managed within democratic norms.

Speaking during the discussion, Momodu stated, “Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen have the right to be angry because they have no chance against Atiku.”

He made the comment while analyzing reactions from political figures who contested against Atiku Abubakar in party primaries.

Momodu explained that emotional reactions from defeated aspirants are not unusual in politics, but such reactions should not escalate into actions that undermine party unity or democratic processes.

According to him, strong political figures often generate intense competition and strong responses from rivals.

He noted that Atiku Abubakar remains one of the most experienced and politically structured figures in Nigeria’s opposition space, adding that his influence continues to shape internal party dynamics and electoral calculations.

Momodu further stated that opposition politics requires discipline, coordination, and acceptance of competitive realities.

He warned that internal disputes, if not properly managed, could weaken the broader goal of presenting a united front against the ruling party.

He concluded by urging political stakeholders to channel disagreements into constructive engagement, stressing that unity remains essential for any meaningful electoral success in 2027.
