I Am Not Indebted To Anybody Over My Aspiration, I Have Absolutely No Regret- Cubana Chief Priest

Celebrity businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has explained why he did not participate in the APC primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.

According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in a statement shared on Instagram, the nightlife promoter said he was not defeated in the primary as widely reported online.

According to him, he stepped aside after meeting with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who explained the party’s zoning arrangement.

Cubana Chief Priest said the governor informed him that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to produce the federal lawmaker. He added that he respected the party’s decision and chose not to appear at the primary venue.

The businessman said his decision to contest was based on his belief that the current representative was not meeting the expectations of the people. Despite withdrawing, he said he had no regrets about raising political awareness in the constituency.

He also dismissed claims that he lost the election, insisting that he never took part in the exercise and travelled to Lagos before the primaries began.

Cubana Chief Priest further stated that he was not indebted to anyone over his political ambition because it was a personal decision driven by his desire to serve the people.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

In his words, "I am not indebted to anybody over my aspiration. The aspiration was entirely mine, driven by my personal conviction and desire to serve.

I have absolutely no regret whatsoever in raising the political stakes and consciousness in our constituency leading to the primaries."
