In 2011, Tinubu Wanted To be Vice President But They Went And Brought Pastor Tunde Bakare—Umar Ardo

According to a report by Daily Post, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Ardo, has stated that he was the original proponent of the idea behind the formation of the party, which eventually provided a political platform for the late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s successful 2015 presidential bid.

He made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday, where he responded to recent political claims surrounding Buhari’s rise to power.

Ardo also took issue with assertions made by former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who had previously maintained that he played a decisive role in ensuring Buhari’s electoral victory in 2015.
