Political stakeholder Okey Nwosu has raised serious allegations of external manipulation within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), pointing directly to the presidency as the source of interference in the party's internal affairs.
Nwosu made these remarks during an interview on Symfoni TV on May 26th, 2026, responding to comments made by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
Gbajabiamila had publicly urged Leke Abejide to remain within the ADC and actively work to destabilize the party, reportedly with government backing.
He maintained that the ADC's leadership has acted properly and that ongoing disruptions are orchestrated from outside the party.
In his words, "There is nothing in ADC that we did wrongly. Everything that is going on there is being manipulated.
When you hear people like the Chief of Staff to Mr. President, who you know more or less is Mr. President, when he speaks, it is Mr. President speaking, when you hear him say these kinds of things that we saw."
