The discussions began after the governor officially inaugurated the transport facility and dedicated it to Professor Nnenna Oti, who served as the returning officer during the 2023 Abia State governorship election.
Photos shared online showed different sections of the modern terminal, including surveillance systems equipped with CCTV cameras and other upgraded facilities designed to improve transportation services in the state.
While posting the images on his verified X account, Governor Alex Otti appealed to residents of Abia State to protect and preserve the infrastructure. He warned against acts of vandalism and emphasized that the project was built for the benefit of the people.
In his statement, the governor noted that the sustainability of the terminal depends largely on how well citizens take care of it. He also encouraged residents to fulfill their tax obligations, stressing that consistent tax payments are essential for maintaining development projects and improving public services across the state.
According to him:
“This terminal belongs to you, and its success depends on your care. I also urge all Abians to pay their taxes regularly. Development cannot be sustained without collective responsibility and every naira contributed helps us deliver the future our people deserve.”
