Sowore Reacts After Kwankwaso Said That His Daughter Was Urging Him to Work with Peter Obi in 2023

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has reacted after former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso revealed that his daughter once advised him to work with Peter Obi during the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.

Kwankwaso made the comment during an interview on Arise TV, where he spoke about what he described as the growing political influence of young Nigerians.

According to him, his daughter had encouraged him to form an alliance with Obi long before both politicians eventually joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Reacting through his X account, Sowore mocked Kwankwaso’s statement and questioned his political judgment.

He suggested that if Kwankwaso now depended on his daughter’s advice on major political decisions, then she might be more qualified to contest for president.

Sowore also accused older politicians of losing touch with current political realities and criticized what he described as dishonesty in Nigerian politics.

During the interview, Kwankwaso argued that many young Nigerians no longer focus mainly on religion or ethnicity when choosing leaders. He said younger voters are more interested in competence and good leadership.

The former governor also claimed that support for both the Kwankwasiyya movement and Obi cuts across different regions and social groups in Nigeria.
