A prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and legal practitioner, Kenneth Okonkwo, has sparked fresh political controversy after making strong allegations against the political movement associated with former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Monday, June 8, 2026, Okonkwo accused supporters of Obi and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) of backing what he described as criminal conduct within Nigeria’s political system.
His comments represent one of his most direct and forceful public criticisms of his former political associates since distancing himself from the movement.
“Anybody who is voting for NDC and Peter Obi is voting for criminality and I will prove it with facts. I will call names,” Okonkwo said.
The outspoken politician maintained that his allegations were not merely political rhetoric, insisting that he possesses evidence to support his claims.
However, in the portion of the interview that has circulated publicly, he did not elaborate on the specific acts or individuals he believes are connected to the alleged wrongdoing.
Despite withholding details during the interview segment, Okonkwo indicated that he intends to present supporting facts and publicly identify individuals he believes are involved.
His remarks have already begun attracting attention across political circles, particularly because of his previous role as a key member of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign team.
