I Grew Up In A Nigeria That Was Peaceful, I Travelled From Onitsha To Maiduguri Without Fear - Obi

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate has taken to his official X handle to lament over the rising cases of insecurity across the country.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X account on Sunday June 21st, 2026 he pointed out that security in the country had deteriorated, hence, there was a need for deep reflection.

His comments were contained in a heartfelt fathers day message which the former Anambra State governor tagged, 'a time for Reflection'.

The NDC presidential candidate, in his remarks, recounted memories of his growing up days where he travelled to all parts of the country without fear.

From Onitsha to Lagos, Maiduguri to Calabar, according to the former governor, he travelled by road without fear. He also disclosed that people were more connected regardless of tribe, religion or political affiliations.
