Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has delivered a stern message to Iran’s leadership, declaring that he would become the regime’s most formidable opponent if he returns to power.
His remarks were made during an interview aired on Piers Morgan Uncensored on June 16, 2026.
Speaking with Piers Morgan, Bennett discussed the newly emerging ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, a deal that has faced criticism from some observers who argue that it fails to adequately address key security concerns.
As a prominent figure expected to compete in Israel’s next national election, Bennett offered his perspective on the ongoing confrontation with Iran.
Bennett expressed confidence that Israel could soon see a change in government and voiced hope that he would be the one to lead it.
Directing his comments at Iran’s rulers, he vowed to continue efforts aimed at preventing the country from obtaining nuclear weapons while supporting what he described as the eventual liberation of the Iranian people from the current regime.
According to Bennett, the struggle extends beyond military objectives and is tied to broader goals of regional security, freedom, and long-term stability.
He characterized Iran as an aggressive force in the Middle East and argued that the consequences of Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons would be far more severe than its current activities.
The former prime minister also identified three goals he believes should be achieved during the 60-day negotiation period following the ceasefire.
These include removing Iran’s enriched uranium reserves, dismantling its ballistic missile capabilities, and eliminating the regional networks that he associates with Iranian influence and militancy.
Although Bennett said he is cautiously optimistic about the agreement, he stressed that its effectiveness will depend on the specifics of its implementation.
He further likened Iran’s ruling establishment to the Soviet Union during its decline, describing it as an increasingly disconnected and corrupt system that he believes is ultimately unsustainable.
