According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, June 25, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has responded to claims of defamation raised by former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, explaining that his recent comments about the politician were based on prophecy rather than personal criticism.
The controversy reportedly followed a prediction by the cleric regarding Kwankwaso’s political future and his possible relationship with former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.
The statement generated reactions after Kwankwaso was said to have viewed the prophecy as an attack on his reputation.
Addressing the development, Ayodele’s media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, stated that the cleric’s intention was never to damage the image of any individual but to communicate messages he believes were revealed to him spiritually.
Ayodele argued that his prophetic statements should not be interpreted through a political lens, adding that he does not have any personal dispute with Kwankwaso.
“For the sake of clarity, I would like to state that my message was greatly misunderstood and misrepresented by those interested in Kwankwaso’s political career.
Sadly, even the politician misunderstood my statement and perceived it as a personal attack and an attempt to malign his character,” he stated.
