LP: How Can Aisha Yesufu Be A Signatory To A Political Party That I've Been In For 10 Yrs? -Ahanotu

Kennedy Ahanotu, the National Youth Leader of the Labour Party and presidential candidate of the Abure-led faction, has raised concerns over internal party administration and decision-making processes during the party’s rise ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on KaaTruths on June 20, 2026, Ahanotu reflected on disputes that emerged within the party, particularly regarding campaign coordination and the allocation of key administrative responsibilities.

He argued that established party members should have played more prominent roles in sensitive party matters, given their years of commitment and experience.

Addressing the issue, Ahanotu questioned the involvement of activist and political supporter in certain party affairs. “How can Aisha Yesufu be a signatory to a political party that I have been in for 10 years?” he asked while discussing campaign management and party structures during the 2023 election period.

According to him, political organizations function more effectively when responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned based on institutional experience and established hierarchy.

He maintained that disagreements over authority and administrative roles contributed to tensions within the Labour Party during and after the election campaign.

Ahanotu further emphasized the need for stronger internal structures, arguing that clear operational frameworks would help prevent conflicts and build trust among party members.

He noted that his long years of involvement in the party had provided him with valuable insight into its operations and organizational challenges.

The Labour Party chieftain concluded by calling for reforms aimed at strengthening discipline, transparency, and respect for party institutions.

He stressed that political parties must maintain clear administrative systems to remain stable, united, and effective as they prepare for future electoral contests.
