Speaking on Friday during a meeting with supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iragbiji, the headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area and Oyetola’s hometown, the minister insisted that President Tinubu remains fully committed to the APC and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
Oyetola urged residents of Iragbiji and voters across Osun State to support Oyebamiji at the polls, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious if party supporters turned out in large numbers.
He also encouraged eligible voters who had yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so before the August 7 deadline, stressing that possession of the cards was essential for participation in the election.
According to Oyetola, the people of Iragbiji should reciprocate the Federal Government’s commitment to the community by voting overwhelmingly for the APC.
He maintained that the ruling party deserved the people’s support because of the developmental efforts associated with the current administration.
The minister dismissed reports suggesting that President Tinubu was backing any candidate outside the APC, describing such claims as false and misleading.
He insisted that Oyebamiji is the President’s preferred candidate and enjoys his full support throughout the campaign.
Oyetola told supporters that wherever President Tinubu stands politically is where APC members should stand, urging residents not to be swayed by opposing narratives.
He reiterated his call for those who had not collected their PVCs to take advantage of the remaining days before the August 7 deadline, saying widespread voter participation would strengthen the APC’s chances of winning the governorship election.
