‘They Said He Protested Against Jonathan, But The Videos Show It Was A Prayer Walk,’ Mike Bamiloye Explains As He Defends Pastor Adeboye Against Long-Standing Claims


Mike Bamiloye has spoken out to clear the air over claims that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, once protested against the administration of former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Bamiloye said many people have continued to spread a story that does not match what actually happened. According to him, videos from the event have always shown that it was a prayer walk and not a political protest.

"They said he protested against Jonathan Government," Bamiloye wrote while responding to the claims that have circulated on social media for several years.

The Christian filmmaker explained that the gathering was organised because of the growing insecurity and the killings that were taking place in different parts of Nigeria at the time.
