The heartbreaking news was shared by Adamawa State Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku, who confirmed the incident in an emotional post on X on November 22.
According to the commissioner, Pastor Pwavi lost her life earlier that day after the vehicle she was travelling in was involved in a fatal crash. He expressed deep sorrow over her passing, saying the news left him shocked and devastated.
Atiku revealed that he had met with the late pastor only two days before the accident at his residence in Yola.
The two had shared a meal and spoken at length about work, family and the future. He described her as warm, cheerful and full of hope, making her sudden death even more difficult to accept.
In his tribute, the commissioner remembered Pastor Pwavi as more than a colleague. He called her a loyal friend, a dependable associate, and a woman whose sincerity touched everyone who knew her.
He noted that she approached every responsibility with commitment and carried herself with grace and humility.
Atiku prayed for comfort for her family, saying the loss had left a painful gap not only in their lives but also in the community where she was widely respected.
He added that her legacy of service, kindness and integrity would continue to inspire those she left behind.
The tragic incident has sparked an outpouring of grief on social media as friends, admirers and associates shared memories of the late pastor.
Many described her as a strong and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to service and uplifted those around her.
One of the tributes came from Muhammad Auwal Hamza, who wrote that Pastor Pwavi was “a light that shone so brightly” that no one imagined it would go out so soon.
He praised her quiet strength, her courage and her ability to make people feel valued. He added that her sudden passing was a painful reminder of how fragile life can be.
Pastor Pwavi’s death follows another similar tragedy earlier this year, where a Kaduna-based pastor also died in a road accident.
