According to report by Daily Post on Monday, January 26, 2026, Senator Magnus Abe has identified the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, stressing the need for unity within the party as it prepares for the Ahoada East Constituency II and Khana Constituency II by-elections slated for February 21.
Abe made the assertion on Monday while addressing journalists after candidates aligned with Wike secured victory in the APC primaries. According to him, the party’s leadership structure in Rivers State is clear and undisputed.
“As far as Rivers State is concerned, the Minister of the FCT is the leader of the APC here,” Abe said.
He added that there is no confusion about the roles being played by party stakeholders and urged members to revalidate their membership.
The senator further noted that APC members in the state are united in their support for President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence that Rivers State would deliver a strong showing for the ruling party under the Renewed Hope agenda.
Daily Post reports that the APC primaries held on Monday produced candidates loyal to Wike for the forthcoming by-elections, which are intended to fill vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
