It Is Better We All Resign & Leave Fubara And Those He Wants To Use To Defraud Our People-Amaewhule

A lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, has stirred controversy after declaring that it would be better for lawmakers to resign and leave Governor Siminalayi Fubara and those he allegedly wants to use to defraud the people.

Amaewhule made the remark while speaking during a House session that was broadcast by TVC News, expressing deep frustration over the ongoing political tensions in the state.

According to him, the situation in the Assembly has reached a point where integrity and the interest of the people are being threatened.

“It is better we all resign and leave Fubara and those he wants to use to defraud our people,” Amaewhule said, accusing unnamed individuals of working with the governor to undermine the legislature.

He argued that remaining silent or complicit would amount to betraying the mandate given to lawmakers by their constituents.

Amaewhule further insisted that members of the House were elected to protect public interest and ensure accountability, not to serve as tools for personal or political gains.

He maintained that the Assembly must stand firm against any attempt to weaken democratic institutions in the state, adding that lawmakers would continue to speak out despite pressure.
