The All Progressives Congress in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State has said the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is the one who showed them the way and connected them to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The party stakeholders publicly passed a vote of confidence on the president and the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule.
At a large political gathering captured in a video shared by TVC News, APC leaders and supporters in Ikwerre, operating under the Renewed Hope family, openly reaffirmed their loyalty to President Tinubu and endorsed him for a second term.
They praised what they described as visible developmental progress under his administration and assured him of their continued support.
Party representatives emphasized that Wike played a decisive role in shaping their political direction, stating that his leadership illuminated the path that led Ikwerre APC members to align with Tinubu.
They stressed that this guidance strengthened their confidence in the President’s vision and leadership.
Commending President Tinubu, the group highlighted what they called historic recognition for Rivers State, particularly the appointment of one of their leaders as Minister of FCT.
They described the appointment as a major opportunity for Rivers people and expressed gratitude to the president.
The APC leaders further acknowledged federal infrastructure efforts, applauding the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and cited progress on long-standing demands in Ogoniland, especially in education.
They pointed to the establishment of the University of Environment and Technology and the appointment of Professor Mmom as vice-chancellor as tangible outcomes of the administration’s commitment to the region.
"Nyesom Wike is the one that showed us the way; Nyesom Wike is the one that took us to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the one that showed us the light that Tinubu is the answer."
"And today, the Ikwerre local government people have reassured Mr. President, go home and sleep, as a people who have unanimously agreed and passed a vote of confidence on Martins Amaewhule and his Assembly members of the Rivers Assembly. We consider the Renewed Hope as our own project."
