Wike Is Saying Even If PBAT Endorses All APC Govs For 2nd Term, It Will Never Apply In Rivers–Fayose

Isaac Fayose has responded to the increasing political engagement of Nyesom Wike in Rivers State, particularly following the former governor’s recent visits to various local government areas.

In a Facebook post, Fayose noted that Wike seems to have made a full return to active politics, prompting questions about whether this will enhance his influence or potentially undermine his political future.

Fayose emphasized that Rivers State is a distinct case that should not be viewed in the same light as other states governed by the ruling party.

He contended that even if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu opts to support all APC governors for a second term, this endorsement would not necessarily extend to Rivers State.

He believes that local political dynamics, the loyalty of the constituents, and ongoing internal disputes differentiate Rivers from others.

He observed that Wike’s ongoing participation in state politics, despite his role as a federal minister, has heightened tensions within Rivers.

Fayose suggested that Wike’s maneuvers indicate a desire to stay politically relevant and influential but cautioned that overreaching could lead to repercussions.

As the situation develops, Fayose pointed out that Nigerians will soon discover whether Wike is paving the way for further influence or heading toward decline.

He stated, "Even if the President endorses all APC governors for a second term, it will not be applicable in Rivers State."
