‎Wike: What Brought About The 001? Who Gave You, You’re Nobody Three Years Ago—Fayose Hits Fubara

In a report by Daily Post, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has entered the political discourse regarding the conflict between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on January 14, 2026.

Fayose opined that Fubara should avoid competing for political authority with Wike, emphasizing that Fubara's rise in politics is largely attributed to Wike's backing and influence.

He remarked that Fubara was relatively obscure in the political arena before attaining the governorship and highlighted the essential nature of hierarchy and respect in political leadership, particularly towards those who have facilitated one's ascent to power.

He asserted that while public office possesses inherent authority, it should be wielded judiciously and with humility.

Drawing from his experience as Governor of Ekiti State, Fayose insisted that the position of governor should be treated with respect, as it commands recognition based on the office rather than personal conflicts.

He cautioned against a serving governor engaging in public confrontations with a former benefactor, as this undermines the dignity of the role.

Fayose stated that political mentors are crucial in nurturing leaders, and disregarding their support amounts to a disregard for political heritage.

He emphasized that loyalty and gratitude are vital in a system where political alliances are key to success.
