'You'll Either Have To Follow Us Or We Drag You With Us. They Can't Kill Us' —Sowore tells Police

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist, has issued a stern warning to security operatives stationed at the National Assembly, insisting that Nigerians will not be prevented from accessing the complex whenever they decide to protest.

In a video posted by The Sun, Sowore was seen speaking directly to police officers at the entrance of the National Assembly, condemning attempts to block citizens from entering what he described as a public institution.

According to him, "Anytime we want to enter the National Assembly, we'll enter it. Forget about all this blocking of the gates.

So tell your brothers you're protecting that they should ensure they pass electronic transmission of results to INEC; if not, when they resume on the 21st, we're resuming together in their office.

And that time, you'll either have to follow us or we drag you with us. They can't kill us. These are our own police, 'Nah, we pay their salary.

Nah, our DSS, nah, we pay their salary.' And if any of them misbehaves, they'll face disciplinary action for abusing their people. Are you listening to me?"

Sowore’s remarks come amid growing calls for electoral reforms, particularly the adoption of electronic transmission of results to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The activist warned lawmakers that Nigerians would intensify protests if the National Assembly fails to act, while also reminding security agencies that they are accountable to the people they serve.
