‎I Think ADC Is A Non-Starter As Compared To PDP And I Invite All Of Them To Return To PDP –Hashim

In a recent interview with The Sun on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and presidential aspirant, has stated that the African Democratic Congress is a non-starter compared to the Peoples Democratic Party, stating that the ADC cannot match the organization, experience, or reach of the PDP.

‎He stated that he invites all members of the ADC to return to the PDP, he said joining the PDP will give them a stronger platform to influence national politics and take part in shaping Nigeria’s future, the PDP is the best option for anyone who wants to be part of a serious opposition party.

He stated that the strength of the PDP comes from unity and experience, he said bringing former ADC members back will help the party prepare for the primaries and the 2027 elections, their experience, resources, and influence can strengthen campaigns and expand the party’s reach to more voters.

‎He stated that the ADC may have won some local elections, but it has not yet built a national presence, he said the PDP has a wider base and a long history of organizing effectively across the country, smaller parties cannot compete at that level without joining a bigger platform.

‎He stated that returning to the PDP will allow former ADC members to play a meaningful role in national politics, he said they can contribute ideas, support, and energy to strengthen the party, together, they can present a united front and provide a credible alternative to the ruling party.

‎"I think the ADC is a non-starter as compared to PDP. And I invite all of them to return to PDP, those who are in ADC," he said.
