Nunu Ribadu: You Can’t Win The Governorship Election, So Don’t Try To Contest — Primate Ayodele

In a recent video shared on Facebook on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele spoke about political ambitions in the lead-up to upcoming elections, offering guidance to candidates on the realities of contesting for high-profile positions.

In the video, Ayodele stated, “You can’t win the governorship election, so don’t try to contest.” He explained that individuals must assess their political strengths and weaknesses realistically before attempting to challenge established structures or popular candidates.

According to Ayodele, aspiring candidates like Nunu Ribadu should carefully consider their support base, political alliances, and strategic planning before deciding to run.

He noted that entering a contest without strong groundwork could lead to avoidable losses and diminish one’s political credibility.

Ayodele further emphasized that political campaigns require not just ambition but also meticulous preparation, strong grassroots connections, and the ability to mobilize voters effectively.

He highlighted that overlooking these factors could jeopardize both personal political goals and broader party objectives.

The cleric added that understanding timing and the political climate is crucial. He stressed that candidates must align their ambitions with the realities of voter sentiment and regional dynamics to increase their chances of success.

Ayodele concluded by advising aspiring politicians to focus on strengthening their influence, building alliances, and carefully evaluating their prospects before entering any election.

He cautioned that premature or poorly planned campaigns could result in setbacks that might take years to recover from, reinforcing the need for strategic foresight in political pursuits.
