Reactions Trail Moment Wike Was Spotted At Airport At 5:30am Waiting To Receive Dead Body Of Mpigi

There have been several reactions from social media users after a video capturing the moment the former governor of Rivers state and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike was waiting at the airport to receive the dead body of Senator Barinada Mpigi surfaced online.

This was contained in a post that Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social media to the former governor of Rivers state shared on his official X handle on Monday, March 2, 2026.

This is coming after it was announced that the lawmaker has died in London. In the video that surfaced online, the wife and children of Mpigi were also seen with the FCT Minister.

Okonkwo stated that he will hold INEC Chairman, Prof Joash Ojo Amupitan responsible if anything goes wrong in the forthcoming election in 2027.

"The same APC telling you INEC can not transmit results because of network issues is asking opposition parties to send digitalized membership in a month's time. So, they know we can digitalize.

"Let me tell you something, If anything happens to our election, I am going to hold Joash Amupitan and INEC responsible".
