If You're Paid To Insult Me Online, It Won’t Shut My Mouth, I'm David And Not Afraid Of Anything–Umahi

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has rejected claims linking him to sexual harassment and financial wrongdoing, including an allegation that he owes a businesswoman, Tracy Ohiri, N200 million for campaign materials from 2014.

According to a report by Punch, speaking to journalists after inspecting the Onitsha–Awka–Enugu Expressway project, Umahi said social media attacks would not silence him.

He insisted he cannot be bullied online and that no amount of criticism would distract him from serving the country and President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, the allegations are attempts to distract him from his work. He explained that the issue is already before a court, and anyone making accusations must be ready to prove them legally.

Umahi maintained that he is confident and unafraid, adding that he remains focused despite what he described as ongoing political and professional battles.

The minister also expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the expressway, noting that a large portion has been completed.

He said the road is being built with concrete instead of asphalt to ensure it lasts much longer. Contractors, he added, have been urged to finish before the rainy season to avoid delays.

Umahi further called on people in the South-East to support Tinubu’s leadership, saying the administration is committed to improving infrastructure and governance in the region.

In his words, "If you are paid to insult me on social media, it won’t shut my mouth. I am not distracted at all. Everyone who knows me knows that I am David and not afraid of anything."
