I'm Not Joining Them; They Won 1 Polling Unit Out Of 349, The Gov's Wife Lost Her Place- Ugochinyere

Federal lawmaker Ikenga Ugochinyere has expressed gratitude to his constituents for their strong support, saying his political strength comes directly from the people and not from powerful individuals or groups.

In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, he explained that his election was unique, noting that he was chosen by voters even while he was away from the country. According to him, this shows the deep trust and belief his constituents have in him.

Ugochinyere also addressed criticism and political attacks from opponents, saying such actions do not affect him because they are not the source of his mandate.

He stressed that his focus remains on the people who elected him and the responsibility they have given him.

Highlighting past election results, he pointed out that some political figures who were physically present during the elections performed poorly.

He mentioned that certain high-profile individuals, including the governor’s wife and commissioners, were unable to win in their own areas, with only one polling unit secured out of many.

For him, this outcome reflects the will of the people and what he described as a higher influence guiding voters’ decisions.

Looking ahead, Ugochinyere said his priority is to complete the work he was elected to do. He added that any future political ambition would depend on discussions with his constituents and their willingness to support him again.

In his words, "That's why I said I'm not joining them because power cannot come from them. Some of them that were there, did they win? They won one polling unit out of 349, the governor's wife lost her place."
