ADC: I Left, Obi Left, Kwankwaso Left Because Those Managing This Party Don't Mean Well-Leke Abejide

Member representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, Leke Abejide, has alleged that concerns over the leadership and management of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) contributed to the departure of several prominent political figures from the party.

Abejide made the claim during an interview on Channels Television, on Thursday, 11 June, 2026, while discussing the internal challenges facing the ADC and the reasons behind the exit of some notable politicians associated with the party.

Speaking during the interview, the lawmaker suggested that dissatisfaction with those managing the affairs of the party prompted several key figures to distance themselves from the ADC.

According to him, the concerns were not limited to his own experience but were shared by other politicians who had also been involved with the party.

“As I left, Obi left, Kwankwaso left. They all left because they see that the people that are trying to manage this party don't mean well for the party because they have nothing to lose,” Abejide said.

The federal lawmaker argued that the party's leadership had failed to inspire confidence among stakeholders, leading to growing frustrations within its ranks.

He maintained that those who left did so after concluding that the direction of the party was not in its best interest.
