Peter Obi Was There, He Can't Claim Ignorance - Dickson Speaks on Attack By Obi Supporters

During an interview on SYMFONI TV on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Dickson reaffirmed that the NDC is not designed to serve the interests of any single individual. He stressed that the party remains committed to its collective vision and internal democratic processes.

According to him, Peter Obi was present and actively participated in the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting where the resolution on party supremacy was adopted.

Dickson explained that the resolution requires all elected officials to implement policies and programs agreed upon by the party rather than pursuing personal agendas.

He described the measure as essential for maintaining unity, discipline, and accountability within the organization.

Speaking on the role of support groups such as the Obidient Movement, Dickson acknowledged their contributions to grassroots mobilization and voter engagement.

However, he emphasized that these groups cannot function as separate political structures alongside the party.

To strengthen coordination, the party has directed support group coordinators to integrate fully into its official structures and campaign framework.

On financial management, Dickson highlighted the party's commitment to transparency and accountability.

He stated that all donations must be paid into an approved party account, ensuring that funds can be properly monitored and audited.

The measure, he said, is intended to prevent the misuse of resources that has affected some political organizations in the past.

Reflecting on the party's primary elections, Dickson admitted that the process was not without challenges.

He revealed that some aspirants were found engaging in fraudulent activities against fellow contestants, a development he described as unfortunate.

Despite these setbacks, he urged party members to move beyond internal disagreements, embrace reconciliation, and remain focused on the shared objective of unseating the APC.

Looking ahead, Dickson disclosed that the NDC is finalizing a comprehensive manifesto that will outline its vision for Nigeria. The document is expected to address key areas including security, education, healthcare, and industrial development.

He expressed confidence that the manifesto would resonate with Nigerians and demonstrate the party's readiness to govern.

The party leadership's message centered on strengthening institutions, promoting transparency, and fostering unity among members as part of efforts to position the NDC as a strong and credible opposition force.
