Adelabu: One Of The Gang Member, Kelechi Had Traveled All The Way From Lagos To Participate - PRO

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Adelabu, has disclosed new details regarding the kidnapping incident involving a member of Adelabu’s family.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Monday, June 8, 2026, he revealed that one of the suspected gang members involved in the operation reportedly travelled from Lagos State to Oyo State to take part in the criminal activity.

According to him, the suspect, identified as Kelechi, played a specific role in the operation as a lookout member of the gang. 

Adelabu explained that the individual did not reside within the state but allegedly came in from Lagos solely to support the kidnapping mission. 

He further stated that during the encounter with security operatives, the suspect resorted to violence, leading to an exchange of fire.

“In his words,” Adelabu said, “one of the gang member who was on the look out, identified by the name Kelechi had traveled all the way from Lagos State to come and participate in the operation opened fire on the operatives and the operatives professionally neutralized him.”
